Game Recap

The Clinton Redskin varsity football team finished the regular season with a 55-12 victory over Adrian-Madison. The win secures a spot in the MHSAA Division 7 State Play-offs. Scoring for the Redskins were Eathan Hicks- 3 yard run, Robbie Campbell-40 yard reception, Michael Sprau- 12 yard run, Clay Langer- 46 yard run, 28 yard pass, 37 yard pass, Trevor Underwood-45 yard run and Dylan Settles-45 yard run. Place kicker Anton Ellerman converted 7 extra point kicks. Langer led the team in rushing with 110 yards on 8 carries. Underwood (2-48), Sprau (5-39), Clark Nelson (1-6), Hicks (3-14), Noah Comar (2-46), Christian Minard (3-14), Settles (1-45), Jack Voll (1-8), AJ Baxter (1-2), David Campbell (1-2), Brayden Randolph (2-8), Creed Ahrens (1-9), Logan Austin (1-2) and Ian Root (1-2) had rushing yardage. Nelson completed 3 of 4 passes good for 100 yards. Campbell (1-40) and Langer (2-60) had the receptions. Creed Ahrens, Trent Sexton, Gabe Gibbs, Will Felts, Brendan Branscum, Conner Brodie, Keegan Degner, Orion Ferrell, Cooper Renaldi, Tyler Bowles, Tyler Szczepanski, Casey Champanois, Riley Jeffrey, Colin Jeffrey blocked well in the trenches. Defensively, Branscum led the team in tackles with 6. Sprau (3, interception), Langer (5), Hicks (3), Comar (3), Minard (1), R. Jeffrey (3), Dane Barton (1), Settles (5), Ian Root (1), Logan Austin (2), Christian Korte (3), Shaun Phifer (3), Cecil rafferty (1), Ahrens (3), Sexton (3, fumble recovery), Jeff Konz 93), Gibbs (1), Felts (2), Brodie (2), Renaldi (2), Voll (2), D. Campbell (2), Randolph (3), Baxter (2), Will Gragg (1) and Bowles (2). Offensive player of the game was Clay Langer while defensive honors went to Brendan Branscum. Special teams player was Anton Elleramn and Creed Ahrens was named Red Army player of the week. Clinton finishes the 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the TCC. The Redskins will now play in the MHSAA Play-offs with an opponent to be named Sunday.
