Clinton High School
The Clinton Redskin varsity football team lost to Whiteford on Friday by the score of 52-21. Scoring for the Redskins were Michael Sprau with touchdown receptions of 22 yards and 5 yards, Robbie Campbell- 15 yard reception and Anton Ellerman with three extra point kicks. Rushing leaders included Noah Comar (3-33), Clay Langer (5-24), Eathan Hicks (1-12), Clark Nelson (3-3) and Trevor Underwood (1-1). Nelson completed 10 of 19 passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Sprau (4-47), Campbell (3-50), Riley Jeffrey (1-30), Langer (1-8) and Noah Comar (1-5) had the receptions. Defensively, Clay Langer led the team with 14 tackles. Sprau (1), Nelson (1), Hicks (12), Comar (4), Campbell (10), Underwood (1), Christian Korte (9), Shaun Phifer (6), Cecil Rafferty (3), Creed Ahrens (7), Trent Sexton (6), Jeff Konz (3), Gabe Gibbs (3), Brendan Branscum (3), Conner Brodie (2), Orion Ferrell (1) and Anton Ellerman (1) added tackles. Offensive player of the game was Mike Sprau while defensive honors went to Trent Sexton. Special teams player was Anton Ellerman and Red Army player of the week was Riley Jeffrey. Clinton is 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the TCC. The Redskins travel to Adrian-Madison on Friday October 20th to finish the regular season with game time at 7pm.
