The Clinton Redskin varsity football team defeated Britton-Deerfield by the score of 41-0 Friday night for the annual homecoming game. Scoring for the Redskins were Michael Sprau- 9 yard run, Noah Comar- 8 yard run, Eathan Hicks- 2 touchdowns from 1 yard out and Christian Minard- 2 yard run. Place kicker Anton Ellerman converted 5 of 5 extra point kicks. Comar led the team in rushing with 131 yards on 6 carries. Sprau (3-70), Hicks (6-57), Clay Langer (8-37), Clark Nelson (4-15), Minard (5-25), Trevor Underwood (3-17) and Christian Korte (1-2) added rushing yardage. The team amassed over 350 yards of rushing behind the strong blocking of offensive lineman and tight ends Will Felts, Billy Baker, Trent Sexton, Brandt Brown, Conner Brodie, Gabe Gibbs, Creed Ahrens, Brendan Branscum, Keegan Degner, Cooper Renaldi, Tyler Szczepanski, Riley Jeffrey and Logan Austin. Defensively, Eathan Hicks and Creed Ahrens led the team with 8 tackles each. Cecil Rafferty had a tremendous effort with 5 tackles, a sack, a caused fumble and pass deflection. Others with tackles included Sprau (1, interception), Langer (4), Comar (4 pass break-up, fumble recovery), Robbie campbell (5, pass break-up), Minard (3), Austin Logan (3), Christian Korte, (2), Szczepanski (4), Shaun Phifer (1), Sexton (4, sack), Jeff Konz (5), Gabe Gibbs (1, fumble recovery), Branscum (2) and Orion Ferrell (2). Offensive player was Noah Comar while defensive player was Cecil Rafferty. Special teams player was Logan Austin and Will Felts was named Red Army player of the week. Clinton improves to 5-2 overalll and 4-1 in the TCC. The Redskins will host Whiteford on Friday with kick-off slated for 7pm.
