Today the Clinton J.V. Volleyball team traveled to Jonesville to compete in their tournament. In pool play the girls would play against Hillsdale Academy beating them in two sets 25-12 and 25-10. Next the girls would face North Adams and would split with them in pool play losing set one 16-25 and then winning set two 25-16. In the final game of pool play the would face the host Jonesville and with both sets 25-12 and 25-10. In pool the girls would come out 5-1 and first place in their pool and would then move onto the gold bracket and would face Hillsdale in the semifinal game. Set one was close but they would come out on top winning 25-20, and they would also win set two 25-21. With the win the girls would move into the finals and would face Reading the top team from the other pool. The finals would come down to a two point win in a three set match. We would come out on top of set one winning 25-23 and then would lose set two 15-25. The tie would bring on a set three. In the final set the girls would come from being down 14-10 and coming back and winning set three 16-14 to win the finals and take home the first place trophy. The whole team played well today and would make some great plays and would fight from behind a couple times and never gave up. The girls would end the day 4-0-1.
âOn the day Trenity Wheaton had 13 digs, 1 assist, 1 kill, 28 points and 4 aces. Bri Underwood would have 14 digs, 23 points and 6 aces. Laylah Ammons had 2 assists, 1 kill, 1 block and 1 dig. Jaecy Jones had 21 digs, a team high 32 points, 10 aces and 1 kill. Hallie Kittle had 5 kills, 1 block, 9 digs, 21 assists, 27 points and 9 aces. Tess Woerner had 13 kills, 4 blocks, a team high 24 digs, 16 points and 9 aces. Megyn Arntz had 12 kills, a team high 12 blocks, 4 digs, 1 assist, 20 points and 10 aces. Sarah Sclafani had 8 kills, 1 block and 4 digs. Karlee Szczesniak had 2 kills, 1 block, 12 digs, 22 assists, 8 points and 3 aces. Lena Korte had 3 kills and 3 blocks on the day.
âNext the J.V. Girls will play Thursday October 12th when they travel to face Madison for a TCC matchup at 5 p.m.
