Game Recap

Clinton was able to pull out a win over Lenawee Christian in a shootout this evening. Although the girls started out strong with some good possession, Lenawee Christian got on the board just nine minutes in after being awarded a penalty for a handball in the box. Clinton had several opportunities for the remainder of the half but did not find the back of the net until the 31st minute of play after Taylor Tschirhart picked up a loose ball and dribbled past her defenders to score.

The second half was dominated by the Redskins but they conceded two more goals to go down 3-1. With only 4 minutes left to play in the game, Bri McNatt was able to poke the ball past Lenawee Christian’s goalkeeper after Kylee Doty found her in the box. With 2 and a half minutes left in the game, Madison Baughey tied it up with a long range shot after receiving a pass from Taylor Tschirhart.

The game went into a shootout after Clinton’s defense denied Lenawee Christian any scoring opportunities while staying composed at the back. Alexis Bruecker stepped into goal after playing the entire game on the field to come up with 3 saves to lead the Redskins to victory. Scoring for Clinton were Taylor Tschirhart, Madison Baughey and Kylee Doty.

Clinton returns to play on Wednesday at Stockbridge. The game begins at 5:30.
