Meet Recap

The Clinton Middle School Boys’ Track team won its second meet of the week with a 93-43 victory over the Whiteford Bobcats at Clinton High School on Wednesday. Kent McCombs and George Ames had impressive showings in the pole vault with McCombs placing first at 8’6″ and Ames hot on his heals placing second at 8′. Brennen Schnaidt won the long jump at 13′ 7 1/2″ while Derek Tomalak was second at 13′ 6″ and Landis Gilman was third at 13′ 5 1/5″. Ridge Ahrens won the high jump at 4′ 6″ and Jacob Huddleston was second at 4′ 6″ also. Jack Voll won the shot put with a distance of 34′ 4″, Tyler Bowles was second with a throw of 33′ 1/2″ and Brayden Randolph was third at 31′ 6″. Nate Chavez continued his dominate performance in the 3200m run with winning time of 12:28 and Gabe Nelson finished third in 12:55. In the 55m hurdles, Gavin Scott was again victorious with a time of 11.1 seconds, while Weston Fortney placed second and Carter Keith was third with times of 11.5 and 11.6 seconds, respectively. The 800m relay team of Davey Campbell, Spencer Konz, Ridge Ahrens and Landis Gilman won with a time of 1:57. Fabian Ramirez won his second straight 800m run with a time of 2:46 and Ryan Doty was third at 2:52. Fortney again scored points for Clinton in the 1600m run by placing third in 7:08. Voll placed second in 100m dash with a time of 13.5 seconds and Randolph placed second in the 400m dash in 1:05.4 while Luke Knight was third in the 400m at 1:11.6. Campbell and Tomalak placed second and third in the 70m dash with times of 9.5 and 9.6 seconds. In the 200m hurdles, Ramirez was first in 34.1 and Keith placed second in 38.2. Schnaidt, Doty and Huddleston swept the 200m dash with times of 28.2, 28.3 and 28.9 seconds, respectively. The 1600m relay team of Randolph, Chavez, Ramirez and Doty finished off the scoring for the night by winning in 4:39. The team will compete this Friday in the East Jackson Middle School Dome Classic Invitational.
