Meet Recap

Eight Clinton wrestlers competed in the individual state tournament Thursday March 2nd-Saturday March 4th at the Palace of Auburn Hills. In the end Noah Comar was able to bring home the first individual state title in 12 years as he outlasted returning state champion Tucker Scholl from Hudson 3-1 in overtime. He is only the third state champion in school history. Austin Popp competing at 215 also was able to place at the event taking 6th. He is on the short list of wrestlers in Clinton history to qualify 3 times and place twice as he finished his career over the weekend. Trent Sexton finished 8th at 189 pounds in his first trip to the Palace. Christian Minard, Anthony Stockdale, Fletcher Mellinger Jake Phillips, and Josh Brown all came up one match short of the medal rounds. It is a great accomplishment to qualify to compete in this tournament and we are very proud of the boys and their efforts this season.
