Meet Recap

The varsity wrestling team continued to shine in the post season at the individual regional tournament on Saturday. The meet was held in New Lothrop and Clinton qualified a new school record 8 guys into the state meet March 2-4. Noah Comar was the loan Champ for the Redskins at 112. He beat Christian Minard in the finals and so Christian finished 2nd. Austin Popp also finished 2nd at 215. Finishing 3rd for the Redskins were Fletcher Mellinger, at 135, Jake Phillips at 145, Trent Sexton at 189, and Josh Brown at Heavyweight. Anthony Stockdale rounded out the qualifiers finishing 4th at 130. The wrestling team will head to Mt. Pleasant this weekend with a shot at the team state title. The first round opponent for the Redskins is number 2 ranked Pine River. Clinton was seeded 7th in the 8 team bracket. It will be a red out if you are able to make the trip please wear red in support of our boys!  The match starts at Noon in Central Michigan’s McGuirk Arena.  Get there early to secure a seat and ticket.
