Game Recap

The CMS 8th Grade Football Team defended their home field against the Patriots of Britton Deerfield. In a weather shortened contest the young Redskins won 32-0.

The Patriots received the opening kickoff but the defense forced a BD punt. A methodical drive by the offense led to a 3 yard touchdown run by Jack Voll on the first play of the second quarter. Brayden Randolph converted the two point conversion and the Redskins were up 8-0. The Patriots next possession resulted in a fumble that was recovered Tyler Bowles. Six plays later Randolph found the end zone from 3 yards out. Tommy Baker took the handoff (the first of his career) and carried a defender across the goal line for the two point conversion and a 16-0 Redskin lead. On the Patriots next possession David Campbell recovered a BD fumble and one play later Randolph again found the end zone with a 52 yard touchdown run. The two point conversion was successful as Will Felts took the hand off ( also his first rushing attempt) and rumbled into the end zone making the score 24-0 at the half. The Redskins received the second half kick off and three plays later AJ Baxter crossed the goal line with a 35 yard touchdown run. Tyler Bowles (also his first rushing attempt) took the hand off and plowed his way into the end zone for a successful two point conversion making the score Redskins 32 Patriots 00. The ensuing Redskin kickoff was recovered on the 25 yard line by Randolph. As the offense took the field the sky opened up and the rain came down. The game was called due to the inclement weather.

Offensively Brayden Randolph led the charge with 8 carries for 91 yards, 2 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion. Jack Voll 4 carries for 27 yards and a touchdown. AJ Baxter 4 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Tommy Burt 2 carries for 14 yards and David Campbell 2 carries for 6 yards.

Defensively Voll and Randolph recorded 4 tackles each. Brendan Keith 3 tackles and a sack. David Campbell 2 tackles and a fumble recovery. Tyler Bowles 1 tackle and a fumble recovery. Luke Knight 1 tackle and a sack. Tommy Burt recorded 1 tackle.

The Redskins season will conclude on October 19th as they host the Bobcats of Ottowa-Lake Whiteford at 6:00 PM
