The CMS 8th Grade Football Team hosted the Aggies of Sand Creek. The young Redskins secured their second shutout of the season winning 38-0.
The Redskin Defense again dominated the game only allowing one first down on the night. After a turnover and a long Aggie kick return Sand Creek twice had first and goal from the 10 yard line. Both times the defense held strong and the Aggies were kept out of the end zone. Leading the way for the defense was Brayden Randolph who recorded 13 tackles and an interception. Voll had 10 tackles and an interception, Will Felts had 7 tackles, Tyler Bowles 5 tackles, Brendan Keith and Luke Knight 3 Tackles, Campbell 2 tackles, Kaden Mozena and Kyler Haft recorded a tackle. Ridge Ahrens had a tackle and an interception.
The offense racked up 294 yards on the ground behind an offensive line that controlled the line of scrimmage. Jack Voll led the ground attack with 9 carries for 118 yards with two touchdowns. Voll also accounted for a two point conversion run and a two point conversion pass. Brayden Randolph had 5 carries for 53 yards and also blocked well out of the backfield. Tommy Burt had 2 carries for 51 yards and a successful two point conversion run. AJ Baxter recorded 4 carries good for 41 yards with a touchdown a two point conversion run and a two point conversion catch. AJ also blocked well out of the backfield. David Campbell rounded out the rushing attack with 4 carries for 31 yards with two touchdown runs and a two point conversion run.
The Redskins will travel to Summerfield on October 5th to take on the Bulldogs.
