Game Recap

The CMS 8th Grade Football Team traveled to Morenci and secured a 27-0 victory.

Offensively the Redskins used a solid running game to rack up 258 yards on the ground. The rushing attack was led by Jack Voll with 7 carries for 88 yards, Voll was also good on one of two extra point kicks. Tommy Burt had 4 carries for 37 yards including touchdown runs of 5 and 15 yards. Burt also recorded a two point conversion. Brenden Keith had 4 carries for 37 yards, David Campbell recorded 5 carries good for 29 yards, Brayden Randolph had 2 carries for 23 yards, including a 15 yard touchdown run, AJ Baxter carried the ball 2 times for 19 yards including an 8 yard touchdown run, Makai Cruz had 2 carries for 21 yards and Spencer Konz 2 carries for 4 yards.

Defensively the team controlled the game allowing only two first downs, recorded numerous tackles for loss, blocked a punt and recovered two fumbles. Leading the way were Voll and Randolph with 10 and 8 tackles respectively. The duo combined for 7 tackles for a loss. Cruz and Keith recorded 4 tackles apiece and also combined to block a punt. Baxter, Burt, Tommy Baker and Campbell were in on 4 tackles. Ridge Ahrens, Tyler Bowles, Will Felts, Konz, and Luke Knight also recorded tackles. Baxter and Campbell also recovered fumbles during the contest

The team will be home next week to take on the Sandcreek Aggies.
