The Clinton Redskin boy’s varsity track team competed at the Division 3 MHSAA State meet in Comstock Park High School in Grand Rapids and finished with a very respectable 10th place finish with 20 points. All-State honors earned included Mathew Sexton with four medals. The senior sprinter finished 4th in the 100m (11.2) and 5th in the 200m (22.7). He joined senior teammates Huntter Trubiano, Kenny DeShano and Noah Poore in the 800m relay setting a school record of 1:30.95 finishing 4th and the same group finishing 6th (44.2) in the 400m relay. Trubiano earned all-state honors in the 300m hurdles finishing 6th (40.8). Other performances included Poore finishing 10th in the long jump (19-11), Lucas Crumb finishing 12th in the 110 hurdles (15.8), DeShano 22nd in the shot put (45-7), Riley Mclaughlin 24th in the shot put (45-1) and Joe Spence 22nd in the discus (122-0). The team had a tremendous season competing led by a fine senior class of dedicated athletes.
