The lady redskin varsity girls track team improved their league record to 4-2 with convincing wins against Whitmore Lake and Britton-Deerfield on Tuesday night. Payton VanStaveren led the way by winning four events! Payton destroyed the competition in the 100 and 200 meter dash, long jump and led off the 400 meter relay with teammates Tessia Struck, Makayla Thompson and Arielle Hitch. Arielle won the 100 meter high hurdles and joined with teammates Struck, Thompson and Jessica Burt to win the 800 meter relay. Amanda Schaare demonstrated consistent dominance in the throws winning both the shot put and discus. Abby Elwart claimed the final first place by winning the polevault!
Several athletes earned second place including Chelsea Scheffler in the 100 meter highs, Lindsey Burton in the 400, Kirsten Hickman in the shot put and Brianna Burton in the high jump. The 3200 meter relay team of Hailey Skiff, Ali Elwart, Shianne Muessig and Bri McNatt also placed 2nd.
To round off scoring, Lindsey Burton took 3rd place in both the 100 and long jump while sister Brianna Burton earned 3rd in the 400. Nikole Hartung showed tremendous grit in the 800 to capture 3rd, Bri McNatt was 3rd in the 1600, Shianne Muessig 3rd in the 3200 and Arielle Hitch was 3rd in the 300 meter low hurdles.
