Game Recap

The 8th grade girls’ volleyball team beat the Britton/Deerfield Patriots 3-0 on Wednesday, October 13. Leading scorer on the night was Hallie Kittle with 12 points. Other scorers included Karlee Szczesniak with 9 points, Tess Woerner and Bri Underwood both with 7 points, Laylah Ammons and Emily Gilroy both with 5 points, Sami Freeman with 3 points, Jaecy Jones with 2 points, and Ryley Baugh, Emily Rothman and Chloe Houghton all contributed 1 point. “The girls had excellent serving and markedly improved serve reception,” said Coach Renee Gilson. Back row specialists Bri Underwood, Ryley Baugh, and Chloe Houghton did a nice job controlling the ball in the back row. Lena Korte, Arianna Maylone, Izzy VanTyle, and Tess Woerner were aggressive at the net contributing numerous hits and tips. Emily Rothman and Karlee Sczcesniak demonstrated exceptional hustle as they led the offense with assists. The Skins are 5-2 in the TCC and 14-6 overall. They play in the Sand Creek Middle School Tournament on Saturday, October 15 and finish out their season at home on Monday, October 17 with a pink out game against Madison.
