Game Recap

The CMS 7th Grade Football Team hosted the Aggies of Sand Creek. The Redskins won the game 20- 0 to record their first shut out of the season.

The first quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams drives stalling out. The Redskins took the ball to start the 2nd quarter and drove 60 yards down the field when Kent McCombs ran in ran for the score. George Ames ran in the 2pt conversion, making it 8-0 Redskins at the half.The 3rd quarter was another chess match until Derek Tomalak intercepted an Aggie pass giving the Redskins an opportunity. Four plays later George Ames hit Brennan Schiandt on a 40yd pass making it 14-0 skins. With time running out Derek Tomalak ran in a 20yd TD to put the skins up 20-0, Jonathan Baughey attempted the extra point but just missed.

Leading the team in tackles was Logan Badge and Kent McCombs with 5 a piece, George Ames added 4, and Derek Tomalak had the big interception. Offensively George Ames was the leading rusher with 6 carries for 75 yards, a 2pt conversion, and 40 yards passing with a TD. Kent Mccombs had 9 carries for 70 yards and a TD, Brennan Schiandt had 3 carries for 15 yards and 1 catch for 40 yards and a TD, Derek Tomalak had 5 carries for 35 yards and a TD.

The Redskins will travel to Summerfield on October 5th to take on the Bulldogs.
